IMI 1st Call 2008
IMI JU on track following first Call for Proposals
The best consortia, consisting of research organisations, SMEs, academia and regulatory bodies, were selected in the first peer review to form joint project teams with the respective EFPIA consortia. "Full Project proposals" have now been submitted by the joint project teams for all 18 of the call topics. The requests for funding from the IMI JU amount to €131 million, while the participating pharmaceutical companies plan for an "in kind" contribution of around €157 million.
Independent experts have evaluated the Full Project proposals during February and May 2009. As outcome of this peer review, 15 Full Project proposals have been selected to receive funding, totalling an investment of € 246 million. The first Grant Agreements, enabling the funding and implementation of the successful project proposals, should be concluded in the third quarter 2009.
