IMI - Innovative Medicines Initiative

The Innovative Medicines Initiative is a unique Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the pharmaceutical industry represented by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and the European Communities represented by the European Commission.

New call for proposals: join us!
More than 420 participants attended the Open Information Day of 17 November 2007 in Brussels Expo. During the event, potential applicants from academic teams, SMEs and non-profit organizations received information regarding the preparation of expressions of interest in response to the new Call for proposals.

Please note that the 2nd Call will be launched in November and that the deadline for the submission of expressions of interest has been set for 8 February 2010. Official documents related to the Call will be available soon.
The funding available for the new call is €76.8 million provided by the European Commission, plus at least matching in kind contributions from member companies of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).

IMI's overall goal is to make Europe again the world leader in pharmaceutical research for the benefit of the economy and society, by removing research bottlenecks in the current drug development process. more...
