The Innovative Medicines Initiative is a unique Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the pharmaceutical industry represented by the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and the European Union represented by the European Commission.

New Call for proposals: submission period extended!
Research consortia wishing to participate in the Call for proposals should submit their Expression of Interest through the IMI electronic submission tool. The link to the tool, as well as documents and information necessary to participate in the Call, are available here.

Because of the large number of Expressions of Interest under finalisation, the deadline for the submission of expressions of interest is extended until Tuesday 9 February 2010, 23:00 Brussels local time (GMT +1). Please note that the helpdesk will be accessible until 17:00.

The new Call includes nine research topics in the areas of predicting efficacy (in oncology, inflammation and infectious diseases) and knowledge management. The funding available for this call is €76.8 million provided by the European Commission, plus at least matching in kind contributions from member companies of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
